It’s closer than you think!

Did you know it takes less than 3 hours to get to Swansea from London Paddington on the train? Many people don’t realise just how easy it is to get to this part of Wales for a wonderful getaway. Our home here on the Gower Peninsula is then just 13 miles drive out of the city, so this way, you could be door-to-door on the beach from London in about 3.5 hours (by car, it’s about 4 hours).

Whether you have a couple of days off and fancy a beach break, or just want to get away and explore, getting here is much easier and faster than you’ll think. Plus, the food’s pretty good…

The Gower Peninsula was designated as the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty back in 1956, and Gower’s coastline is home to some of the best beaches in the world. From the 3-mile stretch of white sand at Rhossili, the iconic Three Cliffs Bay, to our very own spectacular Oxwich Beach, you’ll be truly spoilt for choice.  The Gower Peninsula is an ecologically diverse area, with stunning wild marshland, dramatic limestone cliffs, and golden, sandy beaches. It’s the perfect place to enjoy lazy beach days, explore the coastal paths, experience local nature, or get out on the water.

Beach House sits high on the sand, just a stone’s throw from the water of Oxwich Beach, and we’d love to welcome you in through our doors on your visit to the Gower. We’re open for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday (and we’ll also be open on Tuesdays too from June -September). We use the freshest produce, whether reared, caught, picked or grown – much of which comes from the local area, in and around the Gower.

When you sit in the restaurant and look out at sea, keep an eye out for the different coloured fishing boats. Between the red, blue and yellow boats, our fishermen Paul, Jim and Kevin, fish for lobster and bass, and they walk straight into our kitchen with their fresh catches minutes after stepping foot out of their boats onto the beach. You can’t get much fresher than that.
