Our Beach House family work alongside Hywel to deliver a truly memorable dining experience for all our guests.


Dan Andree
Head Chef

Dan always knew he wanted a career in the kitchen and his first job was at the Priory in Wareing, before he then began his apprenticeship at Springfield Hotel in Dorset.

He built up experience working in a range of establishments, from gastro pubs to hotel kitchens, learning how to manage all sections of the kitchen and develop menus. He joined Hywel in the Beach House kitchen in 2020 and has had a big influence on elevating the new tasting menus since joining the team.

Always up for a challenge, Dan’s entered and won various culinary competitions, and brought back two gold medals from the 2022 Welsh International Culinary Championship.

Outside of the restaurant, Dan likes to stay pretty active and can usually be found in the gym, playing golf, out fishing, and foraging.


Christie Hayes
Restaurant Manager

Christie’s passion for great food and service meant she was destined to work in our industry. Since entering the hospitality industry over 10 years ago, Christie has worked in a selection of award-winning fine dining restaurants.

She was Restaurant Manager for Shaun Dickens at The Boat House, and under her leadership, the restaurant was awarded 3AA Rosettes and the AA Notable Wine List award. She then moved to Adare Manor, Ireland, where she managed the fine-dining Oak Room, which won a Michelin star during this time, before becoming banqueting manager.

Christie joined the Beach House team in 2020 and is loved by the team and guests alike. Christie’s also our resident ‘movie star,’ and in her younger years, gained a coveted role as a member of Dumbledore’s Army in three of the Harry Potter films!
